Absolutely unforgettable, Nagagami Lake offers incredible multi-species fishing, is home to four of Algoma Country’s premier fly-in fishing lodges and is, in our opinion, one of Northern Ontario’s “top 5” fly-in lakes and a favourite of anglers from Ontario and the U.S.A.
Encompassing 13 000+ acres and 33 miles of shoreline, Nagagami Lake’s exceptional fishing includes trophy walleye and pike, jumbo yellow perch. The lake’s diverse structural elements. depth changes, varied bottom content and extensive weed cover provide diverse angling opportunities and consistent catches. The inflowing Foch and Obakamiga (Buck) Rivers also provide unique seasonal river angling opportunities, including whitefish.
Walleyes abound throughout the lake - on points, along break lines, in the weeds, at river mouths - and Nagagami boasts both numbers and size, including walleyes in the 30+” range. Nagagami also offers great northern pike fishing with many fish in the 36-44” range especially at “Pike Alley” / Pody Creek area.
Nagagami Lake has also been the setting for popular TV fishing shows and featured in outdoor magazines. The Northern Ontario Fisherman has fished Nagagami Lake on several occasions and each unique lodge comes highly recommended by guests. Choosing which camp to book may be the most challenging decision one has to make when planning a trip to Nagagami Lake - but you can’t go wrong !
